At the end of March, the French missile frigate “Lafayette” arrived at the port of Odessa, Ukraine.
There is nothing strange about this. If it were not for one circumstance …
Before Odessa, Ukraine, the “Lafayette” had gone to Bulgaria.
The first mention about this was reported by the French Ambassador to Bulgaria Eric Lebedel in his Twitter account,
On the Bulgarian forum the next day there was an interesting message, which the Bulgarians began actively discussing.
The report was published by the employee of the sea port of Varna. He told a mysterious tale, like a detective story, about the frigate “Lafayette”.
From his words, at night in the port began some unusual secret activity. The mooring place of the frigate was cordoned off by some armed men. Together with them were armed sailors from the frigate, all in the cordoned area. They drove out all the port loaders from the adjoining territory. About two o’clock in the morning, two strange trucks with unusual containers come on the pier and begain unloading near the frigate. They were escorted by three cars full of armed guards. Then strange things began to happen.
Except for the armed men, the pier was empty. The truck drivers got out and climbed on board the frigate. About 15 Minutes later, and unusual group of 10 people decinded from the frigate. All of them were dressed in costumes for increased radiation protection. Having split into two groups, they began to take the load the cargo trucks and return to the frigate. In each truck there was only one small container.
As the port worker wrote, it all looked like a shot from a tough action movie.
An hour later the transhipment ended, the trucks and armed guards left and nothing was said about something mysterious and incomprehensible which had happened here.
From his friend with the port administration, he found out in the morning that a mysterious cargo had been delivered by the American company Purple Shovel. The unloading of the machines and the loading of cargo onto the frigate was handled by the frigate team itself. What is this cargo, it is not known. And in general they told him that he would forget everything he saw.
One of the forum participants, also a port employee, confirmed this fact in a conversation under this message.
The Bulgarians at the forum were building a lot of assumptions and versions about what it could be which had been loaded. It was suggested that it could be nuclear charges, mini-nukes (mini-nuclear explosive devices), enriched uranium, or new weapons.
An interesting detail is that a day after the publication, this message on the forum has disappeared.
We were interested in this ‘detective story’. We do not have confirmation of these facts, but decided to find out what kind of American company is “Purple Shovel” mentioned in the message.
If such a company does not exist at all, then the very case described can be considered someone’s joke.
But it turned out that such a company does exist, and this is a very interesting company with a rich dark biography of doing work for the CIA and carrying out tasks for the US military.
This company already has been in the spotlight in Bulgaria:
“So in October 2015, as a result of the explosion of grenades during the charging of the RPG-7 grenade launcher, an American contractor, 41-year veteran of the fleet Francis Norville, died. Two more US citizens and two Bulgarian citizens were wounded. The Americans worked for the American company Purple Shovel, which initially performed the task of the US military – training and equipping fighters of the Syrian opposition, as briefly explained in the US Embassy.”
The company “Purple Shovel” is headquartered in Virginia.
According to the US government databank Special Operations Command (SOCOM), which is responsible for supporting Syrian militants, in December 2014 during the military operations, the US Army authorized the company “Purple Shovel” to execute an order for the supply of weapons worth more than $ 26.7 million for the foreign fighters in Syria. According to the database these was purchased in Bulgaria.
So, such a company really exists and it has a very rich history. She might well have taken part in this mysterious story.
We do not draw any conclusions and leave it to the readers. Whether this story is invented or not, we do not know. If the frigate did not go to Odessa immediately after Bulgaria, we would not be interested in this story.
