Greensboro, NC – The United States Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) with the assistance of the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) SWAT Team, GANG Unit and K-9 unit arrested a North Carolina fugitive. Elliot David Coleman II, a 28 year old, was arrested in Winston-Salem today at 1:00 PM when located by the JFTF and the WSPD SWAT Team. Coleman had been previously placed on Supervised Post-Release Supervision after serving a sentence for Assault with a Firearm on Law Enforcement, Firearm by Felon and Common Law Robbery.

Coleman was wanted by the NC Department of Community Correction-Probation/Parole and the Winston-Salem Police Department for the following charges:

    Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine

    Manufacture Sale/Deliver a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a School

    Manufacture Sale/Deliver of a Controlled Substance within 100 feet of a Park

    Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling for a controlled Substance

    Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    Driving while Licensed Revoked

    Felony Probation Violation

Authorities spent countless hours conducting surveillance and interviews attempting to locate Coleman. Their efforts paid off when Investigators received valuable information on Coleman’s whereabouts. The JFTF, WSPD SWAT Team, GANG Unit and K-9 Unit verified the information, surrounded and converged on a residence in the vicinity of the 1300 block of Brewer Road in Winston-Salem.

Subsequently, during the approach, Coleman was standing at the front door and surrendered to authorities exiting the residence with his hands up. Coleman was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center where he is currently being held.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration Customs and Enforcement, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
