Illegal Alien Accused of Sexual Assault of a Child Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Elkin, NC

Elkin, NC – On January 4, 2017, Anselmo Javier-Jimenez, 45, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) in the Middle District of North Carolina, assisted by the Elkin Police Department. On June 6, 2016, a warrant for arrest was issued for Javier-Jimenez by the Omaha Police Department in Nebraska for First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. Intelligence collection and investigative efforts revealed that Javier-Jimenez was living and working in Elkin, NC. The case was the referred to the JFTF by the U.S. Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force in Omaha, Nebraska.
On January 4, 2017, the JFTF arrived at 112 N. Kirkland Avenue, Apt. 20, which was the last known residence for Javier-Jimenez. The JFTF encountered the fugitive in the parking lot of the residence where he was arrested without incident.
Javier-Jimenez was taken before a magistrate in Dobson, NC and issued a $400,000 secured bond. A court date has been set for February 7, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Surry County Courthouse.
Javier-Jimenez was determined to be a citizen and national of Mexico, present in the United States illegally. An immigration detainer was placed with the Surry County Jail in order to hold him for ICE upon his release from local custody.
The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole and the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
