Hello and Welcome to Blue Bird Sews! I hope you are hopping over from the big Blogger’s Quilt Festival going on over at Amy’s Creative Side because I made a quilt and want to share it with you.
Earlier this year a friend and I decided to barter our services to one another. She did a little design work for me and I made her a quilt. She choose the design and steered me to the colors and patterns she likes. The rest was up to me, find more about the process of the quilt at my earlier post and original post. This one is all about the pictures!
Hope you enjoyed that barrage of photos! I just love going back and looking at this quilt. I finished it in June and shipped it out to her. I was inspired by the English Paper Pieced hexagon flower garden quilts. I used a pattern by Amy Butler to make this quilt and I would recommend it. This is the second time I used the free Sexy Hexy Love pattern. (see my first here)
I pieced the back with the left overs and straight line quilted it all over following the lines of the hexagons. It makes a really great triangle pattern. In the very middle of the quilt I FMQ a flower pattern using a freezer paper template. This quilt finished at 70″ x 74″
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the show!
Cheers!
Kelly
