67: Explosive eruption reported at Japan’s Suwanosejima volcano

October 3, 2012 – JAPAN - Suwanosejima (諏訪之瀬島?) is a volcanic island with a population of about fifty people, located in the Tokara Islands, part of the Ryukyu Islands, Japan. It is 8 km long and is one of the most active volcanoes in Japan.
