If you haven’t noticed by now, there are more and more web-sites where there is a slider (or sliders) present and it is used to organize and present the content in an easily comprehensible and attractive way. If the slider is not the main part of the web-site there is most definitely a section of the web-site that has a slider. All this is because a slider has a great number of advantages. A web-designer, who uses the advanced jQuery technique, can install simple sliders in a matter of seconds. This adds to the overall good look of the web-site. Moreover, a slider is a good way to present any content without overloading the server. With a slider that is adequately designed, you can keep track of all the previous posts, because they are always there, and all of them are presented to the viewer in a very good way.

If you keep track of the development of sliders in general, you will see that very big sliders are becoming more and more popular as time passes. This is not just because they feature very big and high quality photos, but also because these sliders introduce a 3D illusion (it looks like there is some space under them and the rest of the web-page) and this contributes to the overall browsing pleasure of the potential visitor.

In the following text there is a list of websites that feature sliders that are the best and most efficient examples of sliders that I have came across, in my own browsing experience.

  1. The Ryan Ford Studio (link: http://www.theryanford.com/new/)

Ryan Ford is an award-winning designer and Creative Director that specializes in logos, interactive design, and font design (this can be seen on this website). The slider present on this page is used to go through various big images. When you click on them, a small story appears that explains the image and gives further information. It is a very elegant slider, and you should check it out.

  1. Domani (link: http://www.domanistudios.com/)

The “Domani” agency, with combining art and technology and, as they say, they make “happy clicks”. This is actually a web-design and development company. Their slider is modern and it is a very interesting way of presenting the content. There are a lot of animations present and it is very fun to explore the web page. After checking this website out, we can conclude that if the services they provide are as good as the website, then the potential customer would probably have nothing to complain about.

  1. Guns ‘n‘ Roses (link: http://gunsnroses.com/)

I did not chose this website because I like the music of Guns ‘n‘ Roses (in fact, I do not prefer to listen to their music very much), but I have chosen it because it features a very elegant and effective slider. There is no doubt that this rock band is a very famous music band, and the music industry is a business that has a lot of money involved in it, so it is easy to assume that their website will be a very good one. This, in a way, proves that, in order to have a quality and up to date webpage, you should have a slider on it.

  1. Content Timeline (preview link: http://codecanyon.net/item/content-timeline-jqueryhtml5css3-plugin/full_screen_preview/2617834)

The link in the title is a preview link. You can view the slider and explore its options, and if you want to purchase it, you can. I have chosen to present this slider because it is a very good option for displaying any kind of content (whether it is text, or sound or video) and it can fit onto every display size. The slider is programmed to follow the specified timeline. The slider itself, can be edited easily, and it is an excellent plug-in that can be used to start with a web-design. It is attractive to explore, and if you are in the web-designing business, you should consider the possibilities of using it on your website.

To conclude, sliders are becoming an essential part of almost every webpage. Of course if you are creating a sort of blogging website, a big slider is not recommended to be used as an essential part of that sort of webpage. This is because, generally, blogs are considered to be used to feature any sort of content in series, and a slider would not be an adequate choice. On the other hand small sliders that are used just as a small part of the page (they are usually put on the edges of the web site) are always recommended). Small sliders can be used to give emphasis on the important aspects of a website, like, for example messages, important posts, recent and important updates, etc. It is important to have a slider on your website in order to keep up with the competition if you are a web-designer. Furthermore, sliders are simply a cool thing to have on a website, if you share my view on the subject.
