The Elephant in the Room in tonight’s debate will not be the Republican Party or its candidate Mitt Romney. Nor will it be President Barack Obama.

The Elephant will be Libya and it is likely that neither candidate, especially the president, wants to talk about it. I doubt Romney will push it, but properly screened questions (how likely is that?) should put the issue front and center on the table. This topic should be a huge loser for the president if it is handled properly.

Tragically, four Americans died due to ineptness and no one is willing to shoulder the blame. Barack Obama and Joe Biden claimed they never knew anything about what was happening. That claim, by itself, is enough to warrant removing them from office. What would Democrat Harry “The buck stops here” Truman have to say about these duplicitous cowards?

What is going on inside the Administration is the stuff of soap operas. A dysfunctional family tries to hide its incompetence from the rest of the world while individual members jockey to survive.
The personal and institutional interplay between the various entities is fascinating. Everyone is running away from responsibility, especially the higher-ups. Others, sensing they are being groomed for an under-the-bus ending, are beginning to push back in an effort to save their jobs and reputations. In short, the dynamics of the situation is one of an every man and woman for him/herself.

The Ulsterman Report provides information regarding the timeline of events and the characters involved. Some of it is hard data and some of it appears to be less so, although plausible. The language is harsh, so if four-letter words bother you do not read it.

For the rest of us, it provides good information for watching tonight’s debate.
