SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Representative Kristi Noem has secured a fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives with her defeat of democratic challenger Paula Hawks.
In her victory speech, Rep. Noem says she’s aware South Dakota families are still struggling, facing low commodity prices, low livestock prices, higher taxes and higher healthcare.
She says she’s ready to get right to work this next congressional session.
“While we’ve been able, in Washington D.C., to get some victories, our biggest problems have not been solved. And so that is why I ran for another two years to represent South Dakota in Washington D.C. I know we have big problems ahead of us, and they need to be fixed, and I’m tough, and I can do it.”
Rep. Noem thanked challenger Paula Hawks for “running a good campaign” and keeping the focus on the issues.
