Flooding in Houston 2013: Houston flood photos

Flash flooding in Houston, Texas has caused huge power outages, local media reports. Storms caused heavy rainfall and hail on the Greater Houston area.

About six inches of rainfall has been recorded within three hours in some parts of Harris County.

Golf ball-sized hails have also been reported in parts of the Houston.

Several roads are closed in Harris County and Fort Bent County.

Following CenterPoint Energy, the domestic energy delivery company, around 44,927 customers were without power as of 7:00 a.m.

The National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert Saturday afternoon and has now extended to 1 a.m. Sunday with severe thunderstorm warning for the Houston area.
