Iron Edison Battery Company Releasing New Battery/Inverter Packages To Reduce Electric Bills
The Iron Edison Battery Company is now offering what it bills as a cost-effective solution to reducing high electric bills, via the pairing of state-of-the-art battery and inverter technologies.
The new solution has been dubbed Peak Load Shaving. Its aim is to help lower energy bills for commercial enterprises that use it.
Utility companies often impose a surcharge on commercial customers based on the peak load used by a facility. The new system bears this in mind and works to “shave” down these peak loads.

When peak load shaving, the Schneider Electric XW inverter uses stored DC battery capacity to reduce the peak load being drawn from the utility grid. The Iron Edison battery discharges rapidly providing the required energy over a short period of time. After the discharge cycle, the battery slowly recharges using a combination of the grid and/or solar panels.
Peak Load Shaving is great for any business that uses air conditioners, electric motors, pumps, compressors, or other equipment with high power needs. Return on Investment (ROI) can be achieved in a very short period, typically one or two years.
