The U.S. law covering government access to email and data stored online has been in the news like never before. Many say that it no longer fits with how technology is used nor provides the privacy protection that we should expect. In this session, we will describe the issue, the patchwork of non-intuitive rules and outline recommendations by a major coalition and others to update the law.
