Microsoft has unveiled an API (application programming interface) mapping tool to assist developers who are suited to iOS development code for the Redmont, Seattle-based software giant’s Windows 7 Platform. The utility will not include the APIs linked to the Mango upgrade. However, new material will be augmented this summer. The Windows Phone 7 market has more than 20,000 apps with more than 7,000 already approved by developers. These figures are touted to increase.
In addition, Microsoft will be releasing a manual entititled, Windows Phone 7 Guide for Andorid Application developed by Android or iOS to Windows Phone 7. Microsoft will also take an active voice in online discussions such as Stackoverflow and Windows Phone 7 Development. In essence, this is a way of encouraging developers to move into Windows Phone platform.
Currently, there are about 20,000 apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace for windows mobile 7 developers to ravel in. Microsoft’s tool will first `concentrate on Internet and networks, management, user interface and API’s.
One of Microsoft’s officials was quoted as saying in a post to the Windows Phone Developer blog, “ Our next step is to include the Mango features into the API Mapping tool (planned for this summer),” said Microsoft officials in a June 9 post to the Windows Phone Developer blog,” reports the TechJournal
Microsoft explained in the Windows Phone Developer Blog, “that this tool will provide iPhone developers easy access to apps and they can select an iOS and API calls. They can also look up equivalent classes, notification events and methods ifn Windows Phone.
