I changed my mobile phone number last month in order to stop the ridiculous number of unsolicited calls I was getting from people and businesses I had no desire to speak to. I hated the fact that a phone number I had for years had to be given up because of these calls. I don’t know how it happened, or even how I got on these annoying call lists in the first place, I do know that I don’t want it to ever happen again.
Check out PrivacyStar, an useful sounding smartphone solution that lets you: block calls and texts, receive call and text ID information, lookup dreaded unknown calls or texts, file an FTC complaint, initiate a do no disturb function, and a whole lot more.
Let’s say you get a call from an unfamiliar number, you simply use the caller lookup feature to type in the number and identify the name that’s associated with it. Then you have the option to call the number back, add the person to your contacts or (best of all) report the number as a telemarketer or debt collector to the FTC directly from within the application. Doesn’t that feel nice? Simply key in the caller name, phone number and any other information you would like to include about the complaint and the data is fed directly into Consumer Sentinel, a secure database available to more than 1,800 law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad for consumer protection purposes.
Unfortunately, PrivacyStar is offered for iPhone users with only limited capabilities, I’m hoping that will change someday, but the expanded features are available now for Android and Blackberry smartphone users, so take back control of your phone, won’t that feel nice? Check out a free trial at privacystar.com, $2.99 a month after that.
