All Rapoo’s wireless devices run on 5 GHz wireless technology. This ensures fast connection and response. It also eliminates the trouble caused due to interference in 2.4 GHz wireless. The Rapoo E9180P is a keyboard and touchpad combo. It is a portable peripheral device and is very small and light. The keyboard is very slim and the touchpad is attached to the right of it as you see in the picture. The keyboard is light and comes in a small transparent plastic packing. The pack doesn’t contain much and you would find the keyboard, wireless receiver and an instruction manual in the package. The instruction manual contains various instructions and also explains the gestures supported by the touchpad. The keyboard is very slim at just a bit over 5 mm thick. The battery compartment sits on the base near the front of the keyboard and also serves as a stand to raise it a few degrees as you see below. The base of this keyboard is shiny metal and is quite sturdy. The battery compartment already contains two batteries as required by this keyboard to operate. There is a power key on the left of battery compartment which is used to turn the keyboard on or off.

The keyboard looks well built and the size of keys is decent. They have tried saving spaces but it hasn’t affected the important keys much. The touchpad is attached to the right of the keyboard. Touching it on the lower part would serve as the clicks. Tapping on left serves as the left click and tapping on right works as right click. The touchpad has got a nice feel and it is the same case with the keyboard. The keys are a bit small but they are well spaced for a keyboard this size. There are the function keys and they also add some shortcuts for various operations like changing the volume and controlling the music player. The enter and shift keys are large for easy use. You would find the Rapoo label on the space key and vertically on the touchpad.

The wireless receiver can be found in the package and it is quite small. It will be connected as soon as you plug the receiver and turn the switch on the keyboard. It is a plug and play device so it won’t take long to install the device and allow you to use it. Connecting the keyboard to your system is a hassle free process and hardly takes any time.

The Rapoo E9180p touchpad responds well to the inputs. You can use two fingers at once to scroll around a page. The two finger scroll action works for both vertical and horizontal scrolling. As we said, the lower part works as the mouse click buttons. Alternatively you can tap on the touchpad for left click and tap with two fingers at once for the right click. Pinching on the touchpad would zoom in or out like on a smartphone or a laptop touchpad. Swiping down with three fingers would minimize all the open windows on your screen and show the desktop. Do the same again and all your windows will be restored. Swiping up with three fingers would work the same as pressing the windows key on keyboard. In windows 7 it will open the start menu and on windows 8, it will bring up the tiled interface.

Overall this keyboard is a good buy for the price. It is very well built and provides a hassle free experience. It is slim and portable and can do the job of accompanying your media center PC. You can use this device from a comfortable distance without any connection issues and it saves you the trouble of handling both keyboard and mouse separately. It works on 5 GHz wireless like most other Rapoo wireless devices so there are no such issues as interference. You get a good operating range and the responses are fast. We would recommend this if you need a wireless keyboard mouse combo for your media center or maybe as an alternative to your laptop keyboard.
