Rapoo is a manufacturer that has got some really good computer peripherals in their lineup and the new additions don’t go unnoticed. They have been serving us with cutting edge peripherals for over a decade. This new portable optical mouse is another such product. It runs on 5 GHz wireless. They have launched various wireless devices in the past and many of them run on 5 GHz for high speed and reliability.
Rapoo’s products are not only high end in terms of technology but the design are also elegant. Their products are well built and they have won various design awards in the past. The Rapoo T120P is a portable wireless optical mouse. It has a simple design and comes in various colours, including some funky ones too. It has a sensitivity of 1000 dpi which is good enough for everyday desktop use. It isn’t meant for you if you are a gamer. Neither the size, nor the sensitivity would work in your favour. It is a three button mouse and the middle key is more of a rectangular surface that doubles as a horizontal and vertical scroll. The size of the mouse is small as we already said. It has a rubber stripe running around it which makes it easier to hold and adds to the aesthetic feel. It is made of ABS plastic and is well built.
The underbody if Rapoo T120P has got the sensor as well as the power key to turn it on or off. You can slide it away to reveal the battery compartment. You will also find the receiver there which you can plug straight away into your laptop or desktop. It runs of 2 AA batteries and you will find a pair already inside the mouse. Remove the small stripe from in between the battery terminals and contact point, slide the panel back in place, turn the switch on and it is connected already. The light right below the scroll pad will indicate that you are connected to the receiver.
The mouse is comfortable to use and you won’t have much trouble holding it in your hand if you have a average palm size and not like mine. The touch scroll works fine for both vertical and horizontal scrolling. You can also swipe on it for continuous scrolling of long documents. One simple tap on the scroll pad and it will stop scrolling. This scroll pad also doubles as a third mouse button. This mouse supports multiple operating systems and there are various other gestures that you can use in Windows 8. The touch scrolling also responds with a tactile feedback and you get mild vibrations while you scroll. This adds to the feel and eases the operation. The clicks are good though we personally didn’t like the sound much. It is a bit on the sharp side.
The Rapoo T120P runs at 5 GHz wireless which is smart as there are a lot of 2.4 GHz wireless devices which might intrude with 2.4 GHz signals. The mouse is priced well and comes with 2 years warranty.
