HTC’s Desire range of smartphones has satisfied a large number of customers across the globe. It had received a lot of appreciation from its users. But there were a few flaws with the Desires too. So, now HTC has removed those flaws and came up with the latest Desire 826 and showcased it in the CES 2015.
The new HTC Desire 826 has got a similar design as that of its predecessor, the Desire 820. But HTC has provided dual tone colors on the 826. This dual tone color scheme brings a different color on the circumference of the rear camera, on the volume rockers and the perimeter of the entire device. The HTC logo at the back also gets this treatment. Overall, the Desire 826 is a beautiful large device. Its shiny back panel will definitely attract a few pair of eyes. The material used is such that it shines but it doesn’t get too much smudgy.
The Desire 826 not only looks similar to the 820 but it also packs the same configuration. The front it garnished with a 5.5 inch IPS display, but unlike the 820 this is a 1080p display. HTC really put the 826 on a new level by increasing the quality of the display to FullHD. Apart from the magnificent display at the front we get the HTC’s BoomSound speakers. These are located such that there aren’t visible. One of them is located under a tiny strip above the display and the second one is hidden in the same fashion below the display. Above the display we also get a 4MP Ultra Pixel front facing camera. This is a welcoming feature as this camera, even in the absence of a LED flash, will click some great selfies even in the darkest rooms.
HTC Desire 826 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset and an Octa-core Cortex A53 processor (4×1.5 GHz and 4×1.0 GHz). At present the Snapdragon 615 is the best chipset for a mid range smartphone. The graphics on the Desire 826 is taken care by the Adreno 405 and the 2 GB of RAM will handle all the multi-tasking. The primary camera on the device is a 13MP unit coupled with a LED flash. We are expecting it to produce some quality images. It is capable to record 1080p video.
HTC’s own UI is the Sense and on the Desire 826 it runs on top of the latest Android Lollipop. This is just fantastic. The Sense isn’t the most loaded UI available in the market but it still provides a nice, simple and elegant user experience. And the new Lollipop features just make it more interesting. HTC Desire 826 will be available in various colors with different flavors. Most of them will be glossy. The price of the device is yet to be revealed but it will be launched, first in the Asia-Pacific markets, by the end of January. Later, it will be launched in the rest of the markets.
