Microsoft’s next Windows 10 smartphone, Lumia 650 has surfaced in another leak on a German website. This time, the handset flaunts a better view with an all-metal body, just like a sleeker and smarter iPhone 4s. The official launch from Microsoft was expected on February 1, but due to a last minute software glitch, the American tech-giant was pushed to make some changes in the launch date. As of now, we expect Microsoft Lumia 650 to show up somewhere around mid-February in Europe and US.
Till date, the alleged Windows 10-based smartphone has appeared in several renders, including one in October last year and one live image that showed up last month. Both renders gave a fair idea about what Microsoft is holding up, but this one with perfect views from all angles, is perhaps the best of all.
According to recent updates, Microsoft Lumia 650 is expected to sport a 5.0-inch HD IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Rumours suggest, it will power up by Qualcomm’s entry level Snapdragon 210 or 212 quad-core chipset with 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory, and will also include an additional option for expandability using microSD card!
On the camera front, the Windows 10 Mobile powered handset is tipped to feature a superb 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. It’s quality with Microsoft’s updated OS and improved camera technology will be as good as other 13MP shooters in the same price category. Plus, for connectivity options, it will give the basic package (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, A-GPS), along with blazing 4G LTE, with support for in Indian LTE bands. The average battery capacity at 2000 mAh can be a small disappointment, but with Windows 10 Mobile, it’ll not be a major concern for on-the-go users.
Microsoft Lumia 650 is already boasting an ideal package for budget phone buyers. A recent press report revealed that the handset will cost around 220 Euros (approximately 16,500 in Indian currency), and will ship via Carrier Orange in France and Cricket Wireless in the US.
As for Indian buyers, there’s no official word on the launch or availability of this handset, targeted primarily at business users!
