It will now be very easy to stream content to devices. The Google Cast protocol has finally gotten rid of the beta tag after two years. It is currently fully integrated into Chrome.
Google has developed and launched new Chrome Cast extension and enabled Android TV could be connected to Chrome. However, from now on users will not be required to have the extension if they want to stream their favorite content from the browser to any other device of their choice.
There are many websites that support Google Cast. They include YouTube, Plex, Google Play Movie and Netflix etc. All these sites and many others are featuring the ‘Cast’ icon. It allows the user to send their content to the Chromecast or an Android TV without encountering any difficulties.
In case if the ‘Cast’ is not ready, the user may still have the option to cast a certain tab to the desktop with the help of the settings available in chrome. The users also get the option of streaming the content present on their desktops to ‘Hangouts.’
The Chromecast feature was available in beta version for the past few months and with the stable rollout starting in July. Presently, the ‘Cast’ option is fully integrated and every user who is using Chrome 52 or an above version of the same will be able to use the content streaming protocol natively.
