#OscarsSoWhite Boycotters Must Also Extend Their Protest To 2016 Democrats For President
How will the Academy respond to #OscarsSoWhite?
When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its 2016 Oscar nominees, only white actors and actresses were among the chosen few in the top four categories — for the second year in a row — resulting in the resurgence of the social media hashtag #OscarsSoWhite and a bevy of concerns about diversity in Hollywood. So black actors and others decided to call for a boycott to protest the lack of black people as Oscar nominees. Hmm…
So if we are to take them at their word and ask them to now continue that same line of reasoning, then it will be impossible for those in the boycott to vote Democrat in the 2016 President Elections. Why? Because they are all tired, old WHITE people. Not a trace of any color except a rosy pink or waiting room beige anywhere in the bunch.
Actress and Fox News contributor Stacey Dash says it’s “ludicrous” for black entertainers to call for a boycott of the Oscars for not nominating black performers while simultaneously supporting the BET and NAACP Awards which only recognize black artists.
“I think it’s ludicrous. We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration,” Dash said Wednesday on Fox and Friends.

“If we don’t want segregation then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the NAACP Image Awards where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we’d be up in arms.”
Since last week’s release of the 88th Academy Award nominees, calls for a boycott have come from filmmaker Spike Lee, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, among others. Al Sharpton is leading the charge behind a nationwide boycott of the show.
“It’s a double standard,” Dash added. “Just like there shouldn’t be a black history month. We’re Americans, period.”
