  • I would try quercetin dihydrate to cure any cold or flu. I believe quercetin protects the lungs and sinuses from colds and flu. I take the SwansonVitamins 250 mg “Quercetin & Bromelain” mornings and I haven’t had a cold in 2 years whereas I used to take a chest cold every winter.
The NOW brand also has a 400 mg “Quercetin with Bromelain” at Swanson but I just switched to the Swanson brand 250 mg a few weeks ago and I think it is adequate to protect my lungs and sinuses at half the price of the NOW 400 mg.

To liquefy the lung and sinus mucus, for decades I have taken 1/2 level teaspoon of the 14 herb “Mrs. Dash Table Blend” seasoning mornings. Lung mucus should start to liquefy or thin in 2 weeks or sooner so it can be coughed up. I was hoarse last Fall and couldn’t clear my throat. I started taking the Mrs. Dash Table Blend that day and my throat cleared the same day.
Mrs. Dash is available in various flavors at Walmart in the 2.5 oz or 6.75 oz size and at most groceries but only the Table Blend liquefies mucus for me.

I had taken 5000 units of vitamin D-3 daily for 5 years thinking it protected the lungs but I still caught a chest cold and I didn’t feel all that good while taking D-3, so I discontinued taking D-3.
Quercetin is what works for me and I would try quercetin long term (4 months to years) for anything lung or sinus related. Maybe quercetin should be tried for deafness since the ears are only a few inches from the sinuses and quercetin really cleared my sinuses after I had stopped taking quercetin for a month in January 2016.

Quercetin was in a sense hiding from me and was a “sleeper” among my supplements because I didn’t realize how much quercetin was helping me until I tried to stop taking quercetin for that month and my lung and sinus congestion returned and my energy decreased.
So I realized that quercetin had been giving me energy, although I still need to take the Mrs. Dash Table Blend to keep the lung and sinus mucus liquefied.

Quercetin is one of my high priority supplements that I will take for the rest of my life if at all possible.
