BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) had today asked the Chief Election Commissioner Mr. S.Y. Quraishi to take action against the Law Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid for violating the code of conduct by announcing quotas for Muslims if the Congress Party was voted by them to attain power in Uttar Pradesh.
Team led by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, told the EC (Election Commission) that the announcement by the union Law minister Mr. Salman Khurshid was unconstitutional & had violated the election code of conduct.
The BJP leader told that, “He made the announcement in the constituency of his wife (Farrukhabad). This will hamper free and fair elections in the state and it is unconstitutional and violation of code of conduct. We demand a strict action against him and the Congress party,”.
Mr. Khurshid had yesterday announced that a 9 % sub quota for the backward Muslims would be provided in Uttar Pradesh if the party was voted to become as the ruling Party, he said that, “There is heavy snowfall in the state and it will affect the campaigning and voting process in the state,”.
