Everyone knows that the child labour is a big crime in India, but in a shocking incident, ministers who are working for the development of India are making the same crime. Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Gauri Shankar Bisen pulled himself into a controversy on Friday after he was allegedly getting his shoe laces tied by a minor tribal student, not just once but twice at a public function in Chhindwara.
Cooperatives Minister Bisen reportedly called the boy to tie his shoe laces while a road project inauguration function was underway. The boy is now reportedly untraceable. The most astonishing part was that when the incident happened, Union Minister Kamal Nath was also present at the function. He was sitting next to Bisen but did not protest against the act.
In his defence, Kamal Nath told, “I did not notice it. And if I had seen it, I would have of course condemned. I was hurt that it happened at an event where I was present.”
When contacted, minister Bisen on Saturday denied for a school boy or a tribal. He claimed that his shoe laces were tied by his ‘personal assistant’ and not by a school boy or a tribal.
The issue has given Congress leaders a reason to criticize the minister over the incident.
