In the biotechnology, pioneering research the scientist revealed that they have produced world’s first magnetic soap. This soap is composed of iron rich salts dissolved in water. At Bristol University the team members who produced said that this soap will respond to magnetic field when it I being placed in the solution.

It would calm all concerns over the rapid use of surfactants in the oil-spill cleanup and this is been the revolutionary in the industrial cleaning products. For long term the researchers were looking into the methods in searching the way to control soaps or the surfactants and they are known in industry.

Once the soap is placed into the solution they increase the ability to dissolve oils and other solvents in the water, and when they were removed from the system. The prepared this magnetic soap by dissolving the iron in the range of the inert surfactants materials.

These materials are composed of the chloride and bromide ions. These materials are so common found composites in the mouthwash and fabric conditioner that is being in our daily practice.

Julian Eastoe, scientist involved in the team of Bristol University said that iron creates the metallic centre for the soap particles. Journal, Angewandte Chemie reported that to test the properties of the soap, they introduced the magnet containing test tube inside the organic solution mixed with soap.

As soon as the magnet was introduced the soap was able to overcome both gravity and surface tension between the oil and water. This was mainly due to the iron rich content of the soap. After the surfactant was well developed and shown to be magnetic, the team took it to ILL (Institute Laue-Langevin).

ILL is the world’s flagship center for neutron science. When the surfactants were added to the water they seem to form tiny clumps known as micelles. The potential application of this magnetic soap is huge.
