TH POWER 300x182 Power crisis is mainly due to DMK: Jayalalithaa general news
On Sunday, Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu blamed that the previous political party who were ruling, which is the DMK (Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam) is the sole responsibility for this currently prevailing power cut in Tamil Nadu.

Also the delay in commissioning of different numerous projects has been led to a very critical situation and so the government forced for announcing a revised schedule in load shedding. Ms Jayalalithaa said in a statement that DMK has not approved any of the power based projects that has been announced by the AIADMK.

The government produced only 206 Mega Watts during the DMK regime period and they have failed take any further steps or to have a concerned government to do some power projects proposed in 2001-2006 by AIADMK. Since, because that DMK didn’t take any prolonged action regarding the power, the Tamil Nadu was not able to share the power sources from the other states also.

Facing critical crisis due to the power cut all over the state the government finalized that on Saturday that there will only be 2 hours power cut in Chennai and 4 hours load shedding in rest of the state. Besides having the power holidays for the industrial units all over the state, this will be made a rule.

From Monday they have announced that 40% power cut will be imposed to all of the commercial consumers and the industrial people. Jayalalithaa stated that there was an agreement dealing with the Gujarat Electricity Board and Tamil Nadu which the DMK failed and refused to accept.

However AIADMK has agreed upon it for getting 500 MW of power but getting only 235 MW due to the shortage in the transmission of it. Though the demand is for 11,500 to 12,500 MW, the government was able to supply 8000 MW which leaves the shortage of about only 3,000 to 4,000 MW.
