Fashion Accessories For Women

When I was a kid I never asked my mother how she spent her day or for that matter heard anyone else ask her that question. Like most mothers my mother was a home maker, or, a house wife (the more common term) and it was taken for granted that she had a lot on her hands to keep her busy the whole day. But to me she was only one thing – A Super Mom. There was nothing in the World my mom couldn’t achieve. Or no dish under the sun that she couldn’t whip up to perfection. However, what I truly didn’t understand was that more than just a Super Mom she was also a woman. A woman who didn’t have the time or the inclination to come out of the persona we had created for her.

Time, she really didn’t have any and inclination, we didn’t give her much of it. But having become a mom myself today (at the risk of sounding clichéd) I understand her much better. I understand that every mom is a supermom. Wherever she might be, in office or at home she multitasks like no one can. Her day doesn’t just get over after a day in office. She comes back home and still has her hands full. And when she says she’s going to bed, she means, she’s going to pick up the toys lying on the floor, wind up her kitchen, keep the next day’s clothes ready and have the whole day’s menu planned and ingredients ready in her mind.

When she does so much the whole year round, why don’t we make it a point to give her some time to herself every now and then? Why do we take all her special days like her birthday in our stride and think that she’ll probably be more excited about her kid’s or her  husband’s birthday than her own? So trust me when I tell you this (since it’s straight from the horse’s mouth), your mom/wife loves attention and needs it too. So you should really get your act together and start making plans for her Birthday or Mother’s Day, which is just around the corner. And if you don’t know where to begin, you need serious help! So here it is.

Spa ExperienceStart from the beginning. Think about the last time you did something special for her and how it made her feel. The look on her face should be motivation enough for you to start planning. To give her a real big surprise you could probably plan a Mother’s Day party. Invite her close friends and let them all prop up their feet and enjoy while you do the running around for a change. In case, your mother/wife (with young kid) is not too keen on parties (and you really ought to know her preferences) just let it be a small family get together (but a celebration nonetheless). Once you have this bit settled the next step is where you need to put in a lot of thought.

So, pick a gift. And pick it well. If she’s been working too hard of late (which she probably has), give her some time for herself. We love our kids but we really won’t mind if our husbands just told us to take a day off and spend it lazing around on a nice aromatic bench in a spa. Apart from experiences, every woman loves a piece of jewelry. But please don’t buy it just because you must! When you give her something in that department, at least let it be something she can wear with pride (trust me, size does matter here). Else just leave this option out. You could give her a favorite perfume or a watch if she likes wearing one. Don’t think she won’t want all this just because she already has enough. Make an effort and pen down your feelings on a note along with the gift. Your loving words will actually make the gift dearer to her.

Start listening to her properly. Actually buying a gift for your mother is not as tough as it might seem. Once you get in to the habit, it’ll become an interesting ritual year on year. You’ll want to work hard for her Birthday and Mother’s Day. She loves to be pampered too but just hasn’t had the chance to tell you since she was so busy doing it for you. After all someone who’s been taking care of so much needs to be taken care of too!
