Greece’s unemployment fell down to 26.7% in Jan 2014
Greece’s unemployment rate fell down to 26.7% in January 2014. According to Greek Statistics Authority (ELASTA), unemployment decreased by 0.5% when compared to December 2013, but increased by 0.2% when compared to January 2013.
The number of unemployed is 1,317 million people.
Most affected by unemployment are women at 30.02%, while among youth aged 15-24 years old unemployment is still high with 56.8%.
It is the first time since Greece sought the aid of International Monetary Fund that unemployment seems to have been halted.
ELSTAT’s unemployment data are published on the same day that the debt-ridden country managed to raise 3 billion EUR with the sale of a 5-year bond. The first Greek bond issued after 2010.
PS After all the positive news of the last 24 hours, I wonder if Greeks would need psychological aid to cope with the Greek success 
And most probably they will. Because there are still the miserable Greeks claiming that they work but that they receive their wages with several months delay.
