2.751.856 taxpayers together with their spouses and their dependent members managed to survive the year 2012 with an annual income below 9,500 euro. The data is based on tax payers declarations submitted in 2013 and on the occasion of the planned distribution of part of primary surplus to low incomers and pensioners according to economic criteria.
According to information obtained from Sunday edition of Kathimerini, the Committee charged with the distribution of the ‘social dividend’ of 450 million euro has also identified that some 600,000 households had properties worth between €100,000 and €150,000 but annual income below 9,500 euro.
The data derived from the processing of tax returns completed by 5.5 million families in 2013 for income obtained in 2012.
In one year, the number of families with an annual income of less than 9,000 euros increased by 207,743 taxpayers within one year..
In 2012 , there were 2,339,670 tax payers declarations with annual income below this threshold and referring to income obtained in 2011.
