(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. May 4, 2016, 10:35 AM (IDT)

At least one Turkish soldier was killed, three were critically wounded and seven others sustained moderate to serious injuries when a car bomb exploded at a checkpoint in southeastern Turkey in the predawn hours of Wednesday morning. The Kurdish PKK underground carried out the attack. The blast at about 1:00 a.m. in Mardin province near a building with a police station also damaged many houses in the area.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
