(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. July 20, 2016, 1:58 PM (IDT)

More than 60 people, including many children, were killed and dozens of others were wounded on Tuesday in northern Syria when they were mistakenly bombed by warplanes belonging to the US-led coalition against ISIS. The civilians fleeing the village of Al-Tukhar near the city of Aleppo had been identified as ISIS fighters as a result of faulty intelligence. The remnants of the bombs were found to have American ammunition markings. A coalition spokesman confirmed that warplanes had carried out an operation in the area of Manbij and that the coalition is taking all possible measures not to harm noncombatants including innocent civilians.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
