(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. February 14, 2017, 6:36 PM (IDT)

A Russian spy ship, the SSV-175 Viktor Leonov, was spotted patrolling off the East Coast of the United States, 70 miles off the coast of Delaware, on Tuesday morning, the first such patrol since President Trump took office, It was in international waters and heading north. The Leonov last sailed near the US in April 2015. It is capable of intercepting communications or signals, as well as measuring US Navy sonar capability. The Russian spy ship is also armed with surface-to-air missiles. “It’s not a huge concern, but we are keeping our eyes on it,” one official said.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
