Iran's president Hassan Rouhani met Russia's Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev Monday in Moscow to discuss Iranian arms purchases and Russian investment in Iran’s energy industry. Rouhani needs to come aqay with at least one new deal on petroleum to enhance his prospects of winning a second term in the presidential election taking place on May 10. His opponents have charged that he failed to make good on his promise of national prosperity as a result of the 2015 nuclear deal he promoted with the six world powers.
