(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. March 30, 2017, 8:28 AM (IDT)

Hatem Majari, one of the Palestinians convicted of murdering two IDF soldiers in Ramallah in 2000, was released from an Israeli prison following a retrial and expelled to Gaza on Wednesday. A special IDF court ruled that Majari only had a small role in the incident and sentenced him to 11 years in prison for attacking the soldiers and not preventing the crime. However, since he had already been in jail for 13 years, Majari was immediately released and expelled. He was serving in the Palestinian police force when he took part in the lynching of IDF soldiers Yossi Abrahami and Vadim Norvich.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
