(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. March 11, 2017, 3:50 PM (IDT)

Many Iraqi Shiite pilgrims were among the at least 40 dead and 100 injured in two bomb blasts Saturday in the Damascus district of Bab Musalla. They had come to visit the ancient Bab al-Sahgir cemetery, where some prominent Shiite religious figures are buried, when the explosions went off. One source said two explosive devices targeted the buses carrying the pilgrims near the cemetery; another reported a roadside bomb blast followed by a suicide bombing against the police and rescue workers. There was no claim of responsibility.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
