9:00AM 11/23/2012 in NY.
I was knocking on the door of the apartment owner.
I had been having a stomachache since early in the morning and got the toilet blocked in the end.
She opened the door with her baby in right arm. BGM was Chopin.
I explained what happened and started my last day in US in the worst way.
Since I came to Canada, I got to have a stomachache on the day of my flight.
It was traumatic for me how the custom office treated me.
Actually I didn’t only block the toilet, but I also got it flooded.
While we tried to fix it, we got it flooded twice again. I hope the downstairs are not going to sue us.
but my experience in US was entirely fabulous.
When I came to America, I didn’t know if it was a good idea.
There is almost no good reputation about US.
I liked Alicia Keys but had no idea about NYC.
but it turned to be the best place for me. I really feel like at home in NYC. Maybe I can even camp at a subway station in NY.
and California was beautiful as dream.
I’ve visited more than 10 countries but US is the best for me.
They speak good English, people are easy-going, communication is simple and straight.
They taught me I can be just who I am.
One of the symbolic episodes is that I noticed I’m actually both-handed. I suddenly found myself using chopstics with my left hand when I was having lunch.
It never happened to me in Japan.
In east coast and west coast, I met a lot of anti-nuclear activists and attended conventions.
They’re brilliant and I thought I should cover their weak point -Internet.
They have been protesting, collecting signatures, meeting congress men and everything. They are great activists and know how to do it.
I’m totally new to those kinds of things and can never do it better than them.
but they are not covering a thing in the best way, which is the internet sector.
None of the TV shows cover Fukushima accident anymore. Now we totally have our heads occupied by mass media.
We should occupy our own mind. Obtaining the mastery of the internet world must be as important as occupying streets.
This is what I have been doing since 311,but for some reason, not enough number of people seem aware of the importance.
I don’t need a rest. I don’t need shopping or vacation or anything, I just want to take revenge against mass media.
I was unnecessarily exposed because of the government and mass media. They are in one unit.
My goal is to deprive them all of the jobs and free the journalism industry to all the “amateurs”.
Some of the “professional” journalists criticize blogger journalists sometimes.
They say it should be written like this, it shouldn’t be written yet etc..
However, they haven’t stopped nuclear plants for 40 or 30 years, which means, if we follow their way, we’d achieve nothing either.
I don’t know why they are so confident in their own “technique” or something.
Twitter journalism looks underestimated too.
They say “journalists should go to where it’s actually going on and see with their own eyes.”. That may be one effective way sometimes.
but sometimes you can’t comprehend what you are actually seeing in where something is going on.
I’ve seen some “journalists” going to Fukushima without no background information, and being content with taking pictures with some “activists” with a peace mark.
It’s just a waste of time, money, and airplane fuel.
When Bin laden was assassinated, the first witness reported it on twitter on live.
A few years passed. Now more people use usteam or twitcast.
If you wait for a CNN reporter to go to the place and report something after everything was completely ended, you would take a few days to get any information.
Fukushima is the latest nuclear catastrophe, but it’s also the first crisis that has been / will be reported by internet journalism based on SNS.
Recalling the beautiful lakes, beaches, sea and mountains of America, I’m now flying to the destination B.
Even it is a good memory that I took 3 hours on the border from Toronto to NY.
I want to go back to US again and I hope to have a little bigger influence on the internet by the time of my visiting US again.
