Fukushima medical university “The younger you are, the more slowly thyroid cancer develops”

On 9/11/2012, Fukushima Diary reported 43.7% of the children in Fukushima city got thyroid nodule or cyst.

About this result, Fukushima medical university held a briefing in Koriyama city on 11/4/2012. Parents have been complaining the result is too complicated to understand.

In this briefing, Dr. Suzuki from Fukushima medical university stated even if you find nodules or cysts, it’s benign not to grow to be cancer most of the cases, and about the reason why they don’t need the follow-up test, he commented like this below

「甲状腺がんは若い人ほど進行が遅く、2、3年後の次の検査のときに万が一、がんが見つかっても十分に対応できる」

The younger you are, the more slowly the thyroid cancer develops. Even if you find cancer in the follow-up test in 2~3 years, you can treat it.

Università medica di Fukushima: “Più giovane sei e più lentamente si sviluppa il cancro alla tiroide”

L’ 11/09/2012 Fukushima Diary ha riportato che il 43.7% dei bambini di Fukushima presenta noduli o cisti alla tiroide.

Su questo risultato l’università medica di Fukushima ha tenuto un briefing nella città di Koriyama il 04/11/2012. I genitori si sono lamentati dei risultati troppo complicati da capire.
In questo briefing il dott. Suzuki, dell’università medica di Fukushima ha dichiarato che, se si trovano noduli o cisti, nella maggior parte dei casi sono benigni e non diventeranno mai cancri, e a proposito dei motivi per i quali non sono necessari ulteriori test ha commentato così:

Più giovane sei e più lentamente si svilupperà il cancro alla tiroide. Anche se si trova il cancro in test supplementari entro 2~3 anni, questo può essere curato.
