On 8/22/2014, Fukushima labor office announced proclamation of the state of emergency for the first time since it was founded.
According to the office, 23 deaths of worker’s accidents have been counted by the end of July this year. It’s 12 cases more than compared with the corresponding period of a year earlier.
Fukushima labor office states this is the worst number since 2007, which is “extremely worrying”.
About half of the cases are involved in the construction industry.
The reason of the unusual number of the deaths from worker’s accident hasn’t been verified.
In Chernobyl, it was reported that cognitive deficit was caused early due to the cerebral nerve damage.
