19 earthquakes happened in Northern part of Tochigi within less than 24 hours.

The series of earthquake started with M5.2 in the afternoon of 9/3/2014. After 5 aftershocks followed it, 5 more quakes continuously happened in the same location, and more 6 quakes continuously happened.

Japan Meteorological Agency states it was Northern part of Tochigi prefecture, but the actual epicenter is on the border of Tochigi and Fukushima prefecture (Picture attached on the top). It can be described as “Southern part of Fukushima prefecture”.

Before 311, minor earthquakes were continuously observed Sanriku offshore. At this moment, Japan Meteorological Agency has made no announcement.
