On 9/8/2014, an old-established-cafe “Ginza West (Since 1947)” announced they started using Fukushima butter as of 9/1/2014.
They commented “Now that the safety is confirmed based on scientific facts, it would increase harmful rumor if we keep avoiding Fukushima products.”
They also stated on Twitter that it would be the real risk about food when nobody trusts the government’s announcement.
Specifically, they are going to use Fukushima butter for 27% of buttercream for the cakes and a confection.
Currently the safety limit of Cs-134/137 in milk is 50 Bq/Kg. “Ginza West” comments they would not use the butter when the Cs-134/137 density goes over 50 Bq/Kg. However they also stated on Twitter that even if a consumer has one of their confections everyday, it would take 513 years to accumulate 50 Bq/Kg in the body.
They are not going to indicate in the materials list on package because “such low level of radioactive material cannot be harmful for the health”.
