(Before It's News)

Potentially contaminated scrap iron is exported from Japan to a South Korean port without radiation test.

A local citizens’ organization announced this on 10/13/2014 based on the report by the largest opposition party.

The organization insists they should immediately stop unloading the iron for the potential health damage of the port workers, steel interest and the consumers.

From the report, approx. 700,000 t of untested scrap iron was exported to South Korea in 2013 and 64.8% was from Gunsan port.

Even in the first half year of 2014, nearly 440,000 t of scrap iron was exported to South Korea without radiation test and 73 % was from this port.
