(Before It's News)

On 12/12/2014, Japan Meteorological Agency raised the volcanic alert level of a mountain located 82km from Fukushima plant.

The volcano is called “Azumayama”, located between Fukushima prefecture and Yamagata prefecture.

They increased the alert level from Level 1 (Normal) to Level 2 (Do not approach the crater).

In the end of September, “Ontakesan-mountain” erupted. (cf, Volcano erupted in the central Japan / Over 10 people cardiopulmonary arrest, still 43 missing [URL])

Japan Meteorological Agency has been reinforcing the monitoring system since then.
