On 9/18/2015, the Maritime Safety Agency announced they observed the color of seawater is changed toward west offshore of the new volcanic island extensively.

From their aerial survey, the colored seawater had been seen around the island by August, however it started stretching toward West this month. (See photo attached below)

The state under the sea is not observed yet.

Prof. Nogami from Tokyo Inst. of Technology, who attended the aerial survey, states the fumarole zone of the volcano is growing. Magma is still constantly emitted to flow on the West, North-East and South-West side of the volcano. The volcano still remains very active.
