Typhoon Haikui has been leaving death and destruction in northeastern China this past week. Leaving 16 dead. It has forced 2.17 million people to move from their homes, according to state-run Xinhua News Agency. In China's Eastern Anhui Province, typhoon Haikui killed three people and damaged 2400 houses, Xinhua estimated. Xinhua also reported ten dead in Daishan County due to a dam break. The resulting floods injured 27 people in the area. Ningguo city in Anhui Province was severely battered by rains reaching up to eight inches. The water affected 2200 villagers and displaced about 260 million people. Jingdezhen City of Jiangxi Province had average water levels over eight inches, and some places recorded almost a foot of rain. Roads were submerged leaving waterlogged vehicles. Typhoon Haikui has also hit China economically. With farmlands submerged, buildings, roads, and other infrastructure damaged, China will be recovering long after the storm leaves. Typhoon Haikui hit China's most arable land around the eastern rim of the country, damaging crops and farmland. Farmers look despairingly at their crops that have been ruined by the water and wind. They hope the typhoon will soon lose strength as it moves inland. For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me
