Looks like superstorm “Sandy” has got the better of Agent 007. The storm has stranded the new James Bond movie cast in Berlin, forcing them to miss the New York premiere of “Skyfall”. Bond-actor Daniel Craig, director Sam Mendes, and new Bond girl Berenice Marlohe were supposed to fly into the Big Apple today. They are in the Berlin airport after attending the German red carpet premiere of their new movie “Skyfall.” [Daniel Craig, Bond-actor]: “I'm just worried about the people in New York. You know, we'll sit put until we can fly safely but all I'm concerned about is people in New York tonight.” The film's producer, Barbara Broccoli, had words of sympathy for those affected by the storm. [Barbara Broccoli, "Skyfall" Producer]: “It's very, very worrying, you know. They're suffering a great deal through this weather, a terrible weather situation so obviously, our hearts go out to them and we hope that the situation will be under control very soon.” Meanwhile, the movie itself is enjoying strong upwinds. “Skyfall” just set the record for the biggest UK weekend box office hit of any James Bond film. The 23rd cinematic adventure of the suave, but brutal 007, earned over $32 million dollars after opening last Friday in cinemas across the UK and Ireland. The release of “Skyfall” marks 50 years since the first Bond film “Dr. No” premiered in London in 1962.
