There is hope that immigration reforms proposed by President Obama may become reality, as Republicans seek to capture Latin voters. Full Story: Barack Obama's proposed immigration reforms recognize that the United States needs immigrants to fuel its economy. Speaking in Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon, the US president called on Congress to overhaul the US immigration system and offer a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. Carlos Heredia, Director of International Studies at a renowned Mexican research center, says immigrants are vital for the US to remain economically competitive on a global level.
