(Before It's News)
Unless you’re in love with the place you inhabit, it will never be a home.
It always amazes me, when I carry out feng shui consultations, the number of people who don’t get to know their space; who don’t get intimate with the place that should be their refuge and a safe place for healing.
Like it or not, your space is an intricate part of your life. You wouldn’t put up with sharing that space with a person that you didn’t know or even refused to acknowledge would you? And yet so many people have that distant or even non-relationship with their so called ‘home’. This is a shame because, with a supportive home behind you, it’s a lot easier to go out every day and take on the world.
Falling in love with your home is a little bit like dating. Imagine your home as an energetic being.
You have to get to know it, every nook and cranny. Walk around it, inside and out, day time and night time and observe. See how it changes at different times of the day and year.
You have to understand what happened before you were there. What has it seen? In feng shui this is known as Predecessor Chi and you can find out more from a previous article here.
You have to communicate with it. Ask it how the two of you can live in harmony? You will get answers.
And, like all relationships, some will last a very long time and others will be short and sweet. So, if it’s time to go and move on, let your home know that, relinquish the emotional bond and then you’ll find it easier to sell it.
Oh, and if you are leaving don’t forget to walk around and say goodbye. Not only will that leave you with good memories, you will also leave the house in a happy state for its next inhabitant.
