Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA – Syria has no military wayout and victory in Aleppo
should not be misleading, a senior Foreign Ministry official said on
Tuesday.
Mohammad Irani, Foreign Ministry director general of Middle East and North
African Affairs, said that the new developments in Syria have been led by
the victory in Aleppo.
He said that the developments in Syria have entered a new phase following
the liberation of Aleppo and will push the country closer to a political
settlement.
Irani said that liberation of Aleppo is a turning point in the six-year
humanitarian crisis in Syria.
The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the Syrian legitimate government and
is concerned about the humanitarian crisis and violence perpetrated by the
terrorist groups of Daesh and al-Nusra against innocent civilians.
The Saudi-backed terrorist groups of Daesh and al-Nusra perpetrated crimes
against humanity and war crimes by bringing the civilians to the battlefield
at gunpoint to use them as human shield in fighting the Syrian troops.
