These pictures (below), along with a brief email, were sent to us by a fan named Paul Metcalf.

I was hoping you would be able to help me and find someone to take my car, rebuild it, and give it to a wounded veteran, donate it to the Wounded Warrior Project so they can raffle it off, or have someone raffle it off and donate the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project. I never have and never will have the $$ to fix it up.

Most of us sit around dreaming of what cars we would buy for ourselves; I can think of 30 cars I want to own without blinking. But Paul isn’t a soulless hoarder.

His dream was to fix this car up and then give it to a vet, or to the Wounded Warrior Project. The WWP is a great organization. They aid returning soldiers in any way necessary. They have programs to help soldiers heal their bodies, minds, empower them economically, and guide them in their return to civilian life. The armed forces have improved their support system for returning veterans, but there are still cracks to fall through. WWP is trying to build a catch-all, an absolutely essential service that our service people deserve.

Paul wants to help out, so he wants to give his car to a shop (or person) who is willing to put some work into it and donate it to WWP. They could auction it off and use the proceeds to advance their program. The car is located in Poolesville, MD. If we had the mechanical know-how, we would do it ourselves, but we don’t (Matt installed his Raptor’s intake using two special tools called Dimitry and Zack. Zack has used cardboard to repair cars before. Tom rides a bicycle.)

So we’re asking you- our fans- to put the word out. If you know a person, or a shop, that could use an easy project, and wants to do some good (use the excuse of a tax write-off and press if you want) please contact Paul. Even if you don’t, go to WWP and make a donation. We’ve all seen what the trauma of war has done to veterans of past conflicts, this is a chance to prevent that cycle from repeating.
