Chevrolet has announced that the 2014 Camaro Z/28 will begin arriving at your Local Chevrolet Dealership this spring with a starting MSRP of $75,000. That price includes the $995 destination charge, but does not include tax, title, license and dealer fees.
The Camaro Z/28 is a track car that is legal on the road – plain and simple. With a 7.0L LS7 engine providing 505 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque, the Chevy Camaro Z/28 provides enough power, acceleration, and aerodynamics to produce faster lap times on Germany’s Nurburgring road course than the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.
The Z/28 is available in 5 colors – Red Hot, Black, Silver Ice Metallic, Ashen Gray Metallic, and Summit White. If there is one thing you should know about the Z/28, it is the fact that the Camaro Z/28 is a track car. There is only one option on the car. An $1,150 package that adds air conditioning and a total of six audio speakers. The standard Z/28 comes with one speaker for the door chime (making it street legal).
The 2014 Camaro Z/28 is has only one transmission available. A close-ratio, six-speed manual transmission which distributes power to the rear wheels through a Torsen limited-slip differential featuring a helical gear set, rather than traditional clutch packs. Also on the Z/28 are 19-inch forged aluminum wheels and Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires. These tires represent the first production-car application in the industry and are believed to be the wides front tire on any production car.
