CNN slants story on slain ambassador’s diary

Although CNN raised the ire of the Obama administration and the State Department in publishing the diary of slain U.S. ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, the network persists in slanting its news reports about the Middle East attacks.

CNN stirred controversy within the Obama administration by publishing the Stevens diaries on Saturday, which indicated deep concern that the U.S. government had not provided adequate security for diplomats in the region and that Islamic extremism was on the rise and had reached the danger point.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported that the Obama administration objected to the publication of the diaries, citing the allegation that the network had promised Stevens’ family that it would not use the diary. CNN responded by defending its decision, stating that initially it had honored the family’s request but as the story developed it became clear that the diaries contained information that was key to understanding the nature of the attacks.
