Okay, Does it create a really big problem concerning whether the person who asks for help because of possession but who does have an existing mental illness, and at the same time is truly possessed create a unique problem for the exorcist, because if a demon who possesses someone who is already mentally ill, I think would be a much harder case for discernment, right?
Now suppose that all human beings are corrupted like it says in the bible, and because of the fall of man all cases of disease and mental illness are do to this corruption because of original sin. Couldn’t we therefore conclude that maybe, just maybe all types of disease and mental illness, especially mental illness are the work of Satan and his minions? And if this is the case, because of the downfall and corruption that demons may well be behind all mental illness, and if not, and this could not possibly be the case, then why not?
The answer to your first question is yes it complicatw things for doctors, opression and possesion doesn t occur 24/7. It come and go .as for the priest who does the exorcism ,if he s maintaining a holy life as much as possible( without sqelleton in the closet) then ist no problem . Evil react to the presence of holiness . So when evil act out in the presence of the priest …that settle the question pretty much.
Second question: they are behind all thru the fall, and the inktroduction of dishease and weakness . But that doesnt make all desease a possesion problem . Exorcism can not be use as a all sickness remedy .it doesnt work that way.
No Catholic priest knows how to remove demons from people. They would have to use God’s personal name, and they would NEVER do that. It is against what Satan taught them. They CANNOT “exhorcise” demons. Anyone who uses God’s personal name (and God is not his name) can remove demons.
